Brian BethuneBrian A. Bethune
Managing Director, Chief U.S. Financial Economist, North American Macroeconomics Group, IHS Global Insight

Dr. Bethune is Chief U.S. financial economist and Managing Director in the North American macroeconomics service. Prior to this, he was Manager, Business Economics Group for Caterpillar Inc., and senior financial economist for the Bank of Montreal/Harris Bank Group. He has worked on special assignments at the World Trade Organization, Geneva, Switzerland, and the Institute of International Finance, Washington D.C.

Bethune is responsible for high frequency U.S. economic analysis and forecasting and the weekly U.S. financial report. In addition, Brian develops and supports US macroeconomic model resources for credit and financial markets, interest and borrowing rates, the flow of funds, government debt and deficits, government expenditures and taxation. Brian also is responsible for IHS Global Insight's proprietary U.S. leading economic indicator, and the probabilistic U.S. business cycle forecasting model. In addition, Brian manages the Canadian macroeconomic service.

Bethune is the author of several professional and academic articles that have appeared in publications such as the National Association for Business Economics Business Economics Journal, as well as in the Canadian Tax Journal.

Dr. Bethune holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in international economics from the Graduate Institute, University of Geneva, Switzerland. In 1982 he participated in the doctoral exchange program with the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University as a Mackenzie King Scholar.

Jack MalveyJack Malvey
Global Capital Markets Strategist

Jack Malvey is currently a consultant and former Managing Director and Bond Strategist at Barclays Capital. Prior to joining Barclays Capital, Mr. Malvey was the Chief Global Fixed-Income Strategist at Lehman Brothers from1996 to 2008 and the Corporate Bond Strategist from 1992 to 1996. Mr. Malvey also directed Lehman Brothers Global Family of Indices from 1996 to 2007 and Lehman Brothers Global Relative Value publication (1996-2008). Previously, Mr. Malvey was Director of Corporate Bond Research at Kidder Peabody and an analyst at Moody’s Investor Services.

In addition to holding the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, Mr. Malvey belongs to the Financial Management Association, the New York Society of Security Analysts, the Fixed Income Analysts Society, Inc., and the Society of Quantitative Analysts. Mr. Malvey is a former President of the Fixed Income Analysts Society and was inducted into the Fixed Income Analysts Society’s Hall of Fame in November 2003.

Mr. Malvey received an AB in economics from Georgetown University and did graduate work in economics at the New School for Social Research in New York. For the past 18 years, Mr. Malvey has been a ranked strategist in Institutional Investor’s annual fixed-income research survey, including 16 consecutive first team positions (five for corporate bond strategy and 11 for general strategy). Mr. Malvey is also the author of “Global Corporate Bond Portfolio Management,” a required chapter reading for CFA Level III candidates, and serves on the investment advisory board of the New York State Teachers Retirement System.

Kim Wallace
Kim N. Wallace
Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Legislative Affairs, US Department of the Treasury

Kim N. Wallace was confirmed by the United States Senate on July 24, 2009 to serve as Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs. In this capacity, Wallace advises Treasury Secretary Geithner on legislative strategy, communicates Treasury’s priorities to Congress and keeps the Department informed of Congressional objectives and concerns.

Before coming to Treasury, Wallace was a Managing Director and head of the Washington Research Group at Barclays Capital. Previously, he served in the same position at Lehman Brothers Inc. until 1994. From 1989-1994, Wallace was a legislative aide for fiscal policy to then-Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell and worked as an analyst on the Senate Budget Committee under then-Chairman Lawton Chiles.

He holds an M.S. in Business from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. in Government from the University of Texas at Austin.

As Product Line Manager for Moxy at Advent Software, Steve Pulido is focused on leading product management efforts to deliver high quality releases of Moxy, the industry’s most widely used order management system. Cam is Managing Director for Fixed Income Management. His responsibilities include overseeing our tax-exempt and institutional investment services for our fixed income clients. Cam oversees all aspects of our trading, portfolio management, and research efforts.

Cam is a member of Wilmington Trust's Investment Strategy Team, which is responsible for determining strategic and tactical asset allocation policies and approving investment managers and strategies. This involves rigorously analyzing economic and financial market data and actively debating various viewpoints to develop a shared perspective that seeks to enhance value and control risk in guiding client portfolios.

Cam is also a member of the portfolio management team, which manages the Wilminton Short/Intermediate-Term Bond Fund. The fund was recognized for outstanding performance in the Taxable Bond Funds catagory for 2008 in the annual Lipper/Barron's Fund Survey.

Cam joined Wilmington Trust in 1976 as a corporate analyst and joined the fixed income team as a portfolio manager in 1987. During his tenure with the company, he served on a team that developed the analytical framework used in our duration, yield curve, and sector analyses and has led most of our taxable fixed income research. Cam holds a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Cornell University.

In addition, Cam serves on the investment committee of the Tatnall School.

James M. Hannan is Managing Director of Fixed Income Strategy at MTB Investment Advisors. He is responsible for directing the fixed income process including separately managed accounts and management of the MTB Income and MTB U.S. Government Bond Funds. He joined MTBIA at inception in 1995 and has over 20 years of experience trading money market instruments and fixed income investment securities. Mr. Hannan earned his B.S. degree from the University of Maryland and his M.B.A. degree from George Washington University.

Managing Director and Chief Fixed Income Strategist, Stifel Nicolaus Capital Markets

Jim DeMasi manages the Fixed Income Research and Strategy Group for Stifel Nicolaus Capital Markets. The Research and Strategy Group provides portfolio analysis, market insight, and portfolio management advice to a wide range of institutional investors, including depositories, insurance companies, money managers, and public funds.

Jim authors Macro Fixed Income Perspectives, a quarterly publication that offers commentary on the economy, monetary policy, and credit markets. He is also the editor of the monthly Bank Investor and Alpha Advisor strategy reports. Jim is a contributing columnist for Community Banker magazine and is a frequent speaker at investment seminars and banking conferences. Jim has appeared on CNBC and Bloomberg Television, and his views on the bond market are regularly quoted in the financial press.

Prior to joining Stifel Nicolaus Capital Markets (formerly Legg Mason Capital Markets) in 2000, Jim worked for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in Washington, DC. During his 13-year career with the FDIC, Jim served as a bank examiner, securities analyst, capital markets specialist, and executive manager. His primary responsibilities at the FDIC included managing the capital markets training program for examiners and assisting bankers in complying with regulatory policies regarding securities and interest rate risk.

Jim graduated from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Delaware in 1997. He was awarded the professional designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) in 1995. He received a bachelor's degree in finance from West Virginia University in 1987. His professional affiliations include membership in the Baltimore Security Analysts Society and the CFA Institute.

Fixed Income Director and Portfolio Manager, CIGNA Investment Management

Peter Collins is Fixed Income Director and Portfolio Manager at CIGNA Investment Management. Peter is responsible for long duration and insurance company general account investment. He is also responsible for the CIGNA pension plan’s asset allocation and manager selection and provides internal economic forecasts. Before joining CIM, Peter held positions in CIGNA's Retirement and HealthCare divisions. Peter is a CFA charter holder, a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, and holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Texas A&M University and a master’s degree in technology management from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.

Managing Principal, Enterprise Risk Management, Towers Perrin

Prakash Shimpi is a Managing Principal of Towers Perrin in New York, with global responsibility for the firm’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) practice. He joined Towers Perrin in 2004 to head the firm’s ERM Practice and has built market-leading positions with the insurance and energy industries. He is also CEO of Towers Perrin Capital Markets Inc., a broker-dealer that specializes in asset risk advisory services, insurance-linked securitization and retirement-related transactions.

Until June 2003, Mr. Shimpi was President and CEO of Swiss Re Financial Services Corporation. He formed and built the company's structured finance and capital markets groups, pioneering the development of alternative risk transfer (ART) products such as contingent capital and insurance-linked securities, launching the market’s first California Earthquake and Tokyo Earthquake securitizations.

From 1989 to 1995, Mr. Shimpi was Managing Director in the Global Insurance Corporate Finance Division of Chase Manhattan Bank. In addition to acquisition financing, he was responsible for the bank’s ALM advisory business and worked extensively with investment managers to structure their asset portfolios and to implement liability hedging strategies.

From 1986 to 1989, Mr. Shimpi was VP/Manager of the Insurance Portfolio Strategies Group at Drexel Burnham Lambert. In this role he created trading strategies for his clients and advised insurance companies, pension funds and mutual funds on asset management and portfolio structuring. He was the co-developer of an innovative investment and ALM methodology, “Realized Return Optimization,” which is classified today as a sophisticated alternative to traditional immunization approaches.

Mr. Shimpi has worked across academic disciplines and professional associations to develop both the theory and practice of ERM. He has published extensively on asset management and on ERM. He was editor and principal author of “Integrating Corporate Risk Management,” which is recognized as a practitioner’s reference book on the convergence of insurance and capital markets. Mr. Shimpi has held visiting Fellowships at Wharton, the London School of Economics and the Peking University. In addition, he has served on the Corporate Governance Task Force of the CFA Institute, and has represented the Society of Actuaries in several ERM forums and chaired its Investment Section.

Director, Asset Liability Analysis, Unum Provident Investment Management

Russell Barry is Director of Asset and Liability Analysis for Unum's Portfolio Strategy group in Chattanooga, TN. Russell is responsible for developing models and tools to support strategic and tactical asset allocations of the investment portfolio for long duration insurance liabilities. Russell previously held a consulting position for the Investment Systems group at Unum. Russell has an M.S. and B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Tennessee.

Prior to joining Interactive Data, Mr. Webster served four years as managing director for Dun & Bradstreet's Enterprise Risk and Compliance Solutions business. Prior to that, Mr. Webster served as managing director for Thomson Financial (now Thomson Reuters) where he led its Institutional Portfolio Analytics Group, including Vestek, Quantec, and Nelson Information Services. Mr. Webster holds a BA in Physics from The University of Chicago and is a member of the CFA Institute, New York Society of Security Analysts, and Global Association of Risk Professionals.

Daniel D. Foley joined Interactive Data Fixed Income Analytics in 1989. In his current role as Executive Vice President, Development at Interactive Data Fixed Income Analytics, Mr. Foley leads all groups responsible for quality product manufacturing. These groups include: Quantitative Research responsible for the ongoing analysis and development of a multitude of quantitative models, Structured Finance responsible for reverse-engineering all structured product security types included within the various products and services, and Applications and Database Programming. Prior to joining the Interactive Data Fixed Income Analytics team, Mr. Foley worked in strategic planning and special projects at Wickes Companies, Inc. Prior to that, Mr. Foley served integral roles in product management, consulting and branch management for Interactive Data. Mr. Foley holds an MBA in Finance and Accounting from The University of Chicago, and a BS in Economics from MIT.

Sonia Dixon is one of the founding members of the Interactive Data Fixed Income Analytics business, having joined in 1979. With nearly three decades experience, Ms. Dixon serves as Executive Vice President, Analytic Support. In her role, Ms. Dixon oversees all analytic support and client operations groups, which are primarily charged with ensuring a quality product and providing premier levels of product support to existing clients. These groups include: Post-Sales Consulting responsible for on-site product installation and client training, Client Services Group responsible for analytical, application, and technical assitance, Quality Assurance, and BondEdge Bureau for outsourced analytics projects. Previously, Ms. Dixon served as Investment Analyst at Title Insurance and Trust Company. Prior to that, Ms. Dixon was with Gifford Fong Associates where she ran client support for the first bond sensitivity analysis product on the market. Ms. Dixon completed her BA in Economics from UCLA.

Bacc Alexander is Director of Structured Finance at Interactive Data Fixed Income Analytics and leads the team that reverse-engineers all structured products deals (e.g., asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities) for use within BondEdge, which offers access to more than fifteen thousand structured products instruments. Mr. Alexander brings with him 8 years of fixed income, specifically structured products, experience. Prior to joining the business, Mr. Alexander served over 3 years at Banc of America Securities as a Vice President in ABS Origination. He also served over 2 years structuring new ABS transactions for Citigroup’s Corporate & Investment Bank in New York. Mr. Alexander holds an MBA from the McCombs Graduate School of Business, and a BA with Honors from The University of Texas at Austin.

Darius Dadabhoy, CFA is a Senior Consultant in the Analytic Solutions Group at Interactive Data Fixed Income Analytics. The Analytic Solutions team includes sales and analytic consulting which identifies, solves and delivers solutions to the analytic needs of fixed income portfolio managers, insurance companies, and pension consultants. Mr. Dadabhoy brings with him over ten years of investments experience in the fixed income and equity markets. Prior to joining Interactive Data Fixed Income Analytics in 2004, he served as an associate in the long duration taxable fixed income team at Northern Trust. Previous to Northern, he worked at Credit Suisse First Boston in their fixed income sales and trading division. Mr. Dadabhoy holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University. He currently has his CFA designation. He has completed graduate level coursework at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and is completing his MBA at UCLA Anderson School of Business.

Chris PedersenChristopher Pedersen, CFA

Christopher Pedersen is a Senior Consultant at Interactive Data Fixed Income Analytics. Mr. Pedersen works with BondEdge clients to help understand their business needs and work with clients to ensure they are receiving the full benefits of their analytical solution. Prior to joining Interactive Data Fixed Income Analytics in 2006, Mr. Pedersen served as an Investment Consultant with Capital Management in Costa Mesa, CA and also helped to manage the fixed income portfolio. Prior to his employment at Check Capital, he worked at Charles Schwab and Co. in client services and a specialized trading team for affluent clients. ACA was in business of originating CDO/CLOs and insuring municipalities. Before ACA, Mr. Abanin worked as an Assistance Portfolio Manager for Alliance Bernstein. He also served over 2 years as Portfolio Manager for Capital City Bank in Tallahassee, FL. Mr. Abanin is a CFA Chart holder and is a member of the CFA Institute and the NY Society of Security Analysts.
