CMS ANNOUNCES DELIVERY OF MBS DATA VIA
PRIVATE CLIENT WEB SITE
Online Database of MBS Factor and Prepay History Added to
BondEdge Client Site
Los Angeles, CA, April 3, 2000 - Capital Management Sciences,
a division of Data Broadcasting Corporation (Nasdaq:DBCC), announced
the addition of an online resource of mortgage-backed securities data
to its fixed income system, BondEdge. The new database contains historical
factors and prepayment data, geographical breakdowns and collateral
detail for over one million fixed and adjustable rate mortgage pools
and CMO tranches. Similar content will be made available for asset-backed
securities in the near future.
This detailed descriptive data can be used in conjunction with
the analytical tools in the BondEdge system, such as total return simulations
and what-if analyses, explained Teri Geske, senior vice president
of product development at CMS. The prepayment history and geographic
distribution of mortgages underlying a particular pool can help investors
to assess future prepayment risks and to compare similar pools at a
more detailed level.
The data is accessed via an embedded browser that links BondEdge clients
to a private web site. The private site is an ideal way for us
to make this large, complex set of data available to our clients,
explained Ms. Geske. The browser environment and ASP technology
allows us to compile and display the data in an easy-to-understand format
geared to each security type. This data is one of the most recent
additions to the content of the private client site, which also offers
access to CMS research publications, recent additions to the BondEdge
database of fixed income securities and other information.
